Lester William Polsfuss, known as Les Paul (June 9, 1915 – August 13, 2009) was anAmerican innovator, inventor, musician and songwriter. He was a pioneer in the development of the solid-body electric guitar which made the sound of rock’n roll possible. He is credited with many recording innovations, including overdubbing, delay effects such as tape delay, phasing effects and multitrack recording.
In this wonderful custom guitar video interview with Les Paul in New York City, Mr. Les Paul told me the story how the specs of the famous Les Paul guitar got put together. Why do we have a carved maple top? Why did they make a gold and a black guitar? Here are all the answers. Cameo appearance of the Burst Brothers.
This is the official Gibson Les Paul story. Enjoy!
