If you are an advanced player and your ear is unhappy with your tuning results: Here is the Tuning-Way to go. Tune your acoustic or electric guitar the way the pros do. Step-by-step, not necessarily for beginners, but advanced and professional players will appreciate this lesson.
This Custom Guitar Video Tutorial is meant to solve 99% of all the tuning issues you will ever run into. In part 3 of the “How to Tune a Guitar” videos, I will show you my favorite way to tune any kind of stringed instrument. Tuning a stringed instrument is always a compromise. This method is very comparable to the way pianos are tuned. Find the right balance and get your guitar in tune by ear. A great emphasis is placed on how to “recognize” when two strings are in tune. This method is not suited for beginners unless they have trained ears. If you are able to tell if an interval sounds pleasant to your ears, this is for you. Once you know the steps, it’s as easy as 1-2-3.

The Custom Guitar Video Tuning Tutorial will demonstrate different common tuning methods and show their limitations. You will get the theoretical background knowledge to understand how to overcome the limitations of our western standard 12-tone Equal Temperament tuning system and use it to your advantage.
Guitar tuners are not the perfect solution either. Our ear is at least as precise as a tuner. There are, of course, situations when the use of a guitar tuner is highly recommended. Playing on stage or in a noisy environment makes the use of a guitar tuner necessary and inevitable. We need to understand that there are different kinds of tuners which allow us to be more or less precise. The fourth part of this tutorial will show you the pros and cons of different models of tuners and how to use them to your advantage.
Part three of the Custom Guitar Video Tuning Tutorial concentrates on how to learn the ultimate way to tune a guitar!
